The BOOM BAP EAST Conference is an ode to the boom bap subgenre of Hip Hop and music production. This style was prominent in the East Coast during the golden era of hip hop from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. “Boom bap” represents the sounds used for the bass (kick) drum & snare drum, respectively. The style is usually recognized by a main drum loop that uses a hard hitting, acoustic bass drum sample on the downbeats, a snappy acoustic snare drum sample on the upbeats, and an “in your face” audio mix emphasizing the drum loop, and the kick-snare combination. The BOOM BAP EAST Conference celebrates the history of this Hip Hop subgenre with the new Boom Bap sound for the new generation.
US States in the BOOM BAP EAST Conference: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, & Maine.
